How do I Apply for a Visa

The Consulate General of Italy, Dubai has introduced a new facility of applying visa application online in a constant effort to provide greater comfort and convenience to visa applicants. All information pertaining to Italy Visa Application is available on this website. It is advisable for all visa applicants to download and/or fill Italy Visa Application form available online and book an appointment before visiting the Visa Application Centre. There are list of nationals whose citizens are either exempted from visa for short stays or require Airport Transit Visa. To know more about Nationals exempted, please click here. Application cannot be lodged earlier than 90 days from the date of departure. CKGS, Italy Visa Application Centre cannot accept an applications earlier than 90 days from the travel date.

Applicants are advised to follow the steps mentioned below to submit visa applications at CKGS Italy Visa Application Centre in Dubai.

Step 1

Application form

Applicant can download the Schengen Visa Application Form at Download Visa Application Form or he/she has an option to Apply Online on this website post log in.

In case the applicant has used the download facility, he will need to fill the required details before taking a print out of the form. In case the applicant chooses to use the "Apply Online" facility, he will need to provide the required details and pay the fee online before proceeding to take a print out of the receipt.

The downloaded application form will need to be signed by the applicant.

Step 2

Payment of Visa Fees

For downloaded application form, the visa fee will need to be paid at the application centre. For online submission of application form, user will have an option to make payment online. For more details on Visa Fee please visit Visa Fee & CKGS Service Charges page on this website.

Step 3

Print the Application

Applicant will be required to print the duly filled in visa application form for downloaded application. In case of online submission of application, printed Payment Receipt or Appointment Letter will need to be carried to the application centre.

Step 4

Appointment for Submission of Application

All applicants are advised to book an appointment before visiting the application centre for application submission. Application submission will also include capturing of Biometrics of the applicant. The applicant will have to carry a printed appointment letter or printed payment acknowledgement along with the filled in or printed application form, passport and supporting documents to the CKGS Italy Visa Application Centre in Dubai at the appointed time or as a walk in applicant.

Step 5

Visiting the Application Centre

Applicant will be directed to a counter where our submission officer will verify the presence and compliance of all of his/her required documentation. If the Visa Application Form or any supporting document is incomplete, applicant will be requested to complete the same and then schedule a fresh appointment to submit the application. If the application is in order, submission officer will proceed to collect payment, if not already made through the online payment facility, towards the applicable Service Charges and any other charges due towards value added services opted by the applicant. The applicant can pay the service charges in cash or credit or debit card. The Applicant will collect Invoice cum Receipt against application submitted, which needs to be presented at the time of passport collection.

Step 6

Track your Visa Application

The applicant can track the status of his/her application through our website link Track your visa Application. The applicant will need to key in the Passport Number and the Date of Birth for verification purposes in order to avail information on the progress made towards their application.

The applicant can also call on Toll free number 800 ITALY (48259) or Telephone Number 043210331 (to be used if the toll free number cannot be connected) or email us on to check the status of their visa application.

Step 7

Passport Return

Once the visa application has been processed by The Consulate General of Italy, an SMS (if applicant has opted for SMS Value Added Service) and Email notification is sent, informing the applicant to visit the application centre along with the Payment Receipt and collect his/her passport. If during the time of submission, applicant has opted to receive his/her passport through courier, then the passport will be couriered to the applicant the same day it arrives at the application centre from the Consulate.

Step 8

Collect your Passport

To collect the passport physically, applicant will need to visit the CKGS Italy Visa Application Centre in Dubai with the Invoice Cum Receipt assigned at the time of submission of his/her application.
